TELEVISION PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as photographers, television, audio/video and photography camera operators, production assistants, audio/video broadcast and studio technicians and recording engineers, live streaming and podcast creation, basic website creation, basic marketing and responsible social media. This program emulates a real-world employment environment, requiring punctuality and attendance, and offering a sequence of coherent, rigorous and challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge, with skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communication career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes and general employability skills, technical skills and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Arts, Photography, A/V Technology and Communication career cluster. The content stresses, but is not limited to, communication and leadership skills, human relations and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices, interview skills, responsibility for overall production of television, photographic, video and audio studio activities, including pre-production, script and copy writing, lighting, shooting and directing documentaries, commercial advertising, cinematography, live streaming and podcasts, electronic news gathering (ENG) and field production. This program also offers the option to acquire the FAA Part 107 UAS Drone Operator Certification.
OCCUPATION DESCRIPTION:
Camera Technology, Photography and Audio/Video Production: Proficient use of digital cameras (still and video), studio technology and safety, commercial and industrial photo and video applications with emphasis on planning and problem solving, composition, lighting and basics of audio technology.
Photo, Video, and Audio Production: Plan, record/create, produce, edit and export photo, video and audio content using industry-standard editing software Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Lightroom.
